FA CUP 06-07


Quarter-finals Draws

  • Middlesbrough v Man Utd
  • Blackburn v Manchester City
  • Chelsea v Tottenham
  • Plymouth v Watford
Middlesbrough Vs Manchester United

At the Riverside Middlesbrough host Premiership Leaders Manchester United . Manchester United are on a high note after their Champion's league success as they progress through the quaterfinals of European Cup. United are on the verge of gaining a treble this season as they are active in all the three remaining competitions. But there is one matter of concern for United and that is the availability of fully fit strikers . Saha and Solskjaer are already out with injuries and Larsson is on his final assignment for the Red Devils after which he is going back to Helsingborg.

Whereas Middlesbrough are also on a high after their success in FA cup's previous rounds , thought they had to come through two back to back Penalty ridden matches. And there is no concern for any player injuries at the Riverside as they expect Lee Cattermole and Julio Arca fit for the match.

Blackburn Rovers vs Manchester City

Mark Hughes Blackburn will face a tricky encounter with the visiting City side.
Blacburn will be without suspended midfielder David Dunn for the clash with Man City - against whom Rovers have already scored seven goals in two comprehensive Premiership wins this season.

Stuart Pearce will have to choose a good attacking pair this Saturday as Emile Mpenza as been included into he squad.Their former strike partnership of Samaras and Corradi proved to be fruitless as they ended up in the losing side against Wigan in the Premiership.

Chelsea Vs Tottenham Hotspurs

At Stamford Bridge , Spurs will have tricky London Derby against Chelsea. Spurs are on a high after their UEFA cup fixture in the mid week against Braga. Martin Jol has claimed that he is not going to sit and wait instead he is going to attack Chelsea from the word go.

Chelsea have decided to recall Captain John Terry for this important match . Injury remains to be the concern for both the teams as Chelsea will be without Joe Cole and Spurs wont be having Striker Mido and Jenas. Assou Ekotto remains to be a long time absentee for Spurs.

Plymouth vs Watford

Premiership strugglers Watford will play Plymouth. Since the match is played at Plymouth's home it is expected to be tough encounter for Watford. But the one good news for Watford is that of the return of keeper Ben Foster who is expected to be at defense. Foster has been having a fantastic season for Watford and is onloan from Manchester United.
