Gunners gunned down by Everton and Villa hold Liverpool

At the Goodison Park, Arsenal were against the highly spirited Everton side though the Toffees were without their inspirational midfielder Tim Cahilland so does Arsenal miss their Captain Henry. It was an even game in the first half with both the teams having equal chances of scoring goals.
Andy Johnson , who stated in the midweek tabloids that he misses London was in the lime light again when he scored the winning goal at the end of injury time . Arsenal failed to clear the corner in the 93rd minute and the loose ball was latched on by Johnson and sent a left foot pile driver past Lehmann. This win over Arsenal has put Everton in the 6th place of the Premiership table.

Score:

Everton 1 - 0 Arsenal

For once Liverpool will be grateful to Everton for their win over Arsenal , since that as pushed Liverpool's chances of securing the third place in the premiership is alive. But Liverpool too had a tough outing at VillaPark as Aston Villa drew with Reds.
This match will be seen as the competition between defenders as both the teams were having an end to end game . But eventually Swed, Olaf Mellberg , the Man of the Match was outstanding in the match by intercepting and stopping the Liverpool's strikers from scoring. Though the match would be ended in a sad note that the refreeing was below standard. Stilian Petrov was tackled by Jamie Carragher in the box and Aston Villa were denied a clear Penalty oppurtunity. This clean sheet by Liverpool is their 14 th in 16 previous matches .
