10 MAN ARSENAL TOO MANY FOR PORTSMOUTH

Arsenal had a tricky tie against harry Rednapp's Portsmouth. Though Arsenal missed their captain William Gallas but the return of the Brazilian Gilberto Silva surely delighted the fans.
David James's blunder in the first half resulted in a penalty as he brought down Van Persie inside the box and Adebayor gratefully netted the ball in the net. And goals from Rosicky and Cesc Fabregas ensured three points for Arsenal. But in the second half a clumpsy challenge from Senderos on Kanu was enough for referee Mark Halsey to send the Arsenal defender. The only consolation for Portsmouth in the whole match was goal from Kanu. After Arsenal were down to ten men Portsmouth switched gears and they sent almost everyone in search of goals . John Utaka and Glen Johnson were simply spectacular in the whole game asking questions to the Arsenal defense with their teasing crosses. This match will be ended as a match of missed chances for Portsmouth and whereas Arsenal get 3 points and move top of the premiership along with Liverpool.

RESULT:

ARSENAL 3 - 1 PORTSMOUTH

SCORERS:

ARSENAL: ADEBAYOR ( PEN)
