EPL Weekend Fixtures - very Crucial Matches

This weekend will see one of the most awaited clash of the English Premier League. It's going to be the clash of the Titans Arsenal Vs Manchester United. The Champions will have a uphill task in facing the League Leaders. Both the Red Devils and the Gunners are at the top of the table with the same points. Arsenal with one game in hand stands first.

Arsenal is yet to loose a game this season, while Manchester United have scored 4 goals consistently in their last 4 outings. Manchester United lost both of their premiership games against Arsenal last season and they will be ready to show their revenge.

Injury Blows

Arsenal Striking Spear head Robin Van Persie is injured and is out of their squad. He will not be available for this match along with their center back Senderos. All other Arsenal players are well fit and are raring to continue their undefeated streak this season.

While Manchester United have a separate squad for injury. Their injury worries is added by the recent long time injuries to their Center Mid-Fielders Paul Scholes and Carrick.

This is the first time Manchester United will play Arsenal in their new stadium Emirates. This match will override the importance of all other EPL matches. This will also be a decider. This Cracker will be a feast for fans of both the team.

As per most prediction the outcome will either be a draw or it would be in favour of Arsenal. Manchester united will be starting as Underdogs for the first time in many years in the premier League. Spanish Wonder kid Cesc Fabregas will be the key for Arsenal success. He is the guy who scored a beauty at Anfield to increase the worries for Liverpool.

Both the teams seems to be confident and are expected to attack which will provide a joy for fans.

Other fixtures that is worth mentioning here is the match between dying Liverpool and growing Blackburn.

Striker Crisis shoots up for Man Utd as Solskjaer might retire

Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the widely know as a Super-sub might call it a day . Solskjaer who has been suffering from knee injury in recent years, is all to set to announce his retirement from Red Devils team. His announcement could have come at this time where Man utd are well short of striker, with Rooney and Saha injured.

Adding to that , Fegie has also sold Alan Smith and Rossi only a few days ago. Crisis filled Argentine Carloz Tevez is the lone striker for United and has not upto it's standards. Giggs is trying to assist him in front, but it's of no use.

At this situation Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to announce his retirement within 24 hours from now. Berbatov has denied links with the Red Devils atleast for this month. There is not much time left for Fergie to buy a striker to fill the vaccum created by Smith, Rossi, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Rooney and Saha due to injury. It would be interesting to see if Fergie makes a panic buy for striker.

The Norwegian forward, who scored the winner in the Champions League final against Bayern Munich as United won the Treble in 1999, made several comebacks in the last four years but has failed to fully overcome the problem.Solskjaer, dubbed the 'Baby-Faced Assasin', joined United from Molde for £1.5million in 1996 and has firmly established himself as a hero at Old Trafford.

One thing for sure is Manchester United and it's fans including me will miss the service of the 'Baby-Faced Assasin' Solskjaer.

Two new Premiership downfall and contenders

This premiership start saw the downfall of Manchester United and Spurs . The Red devils drew their first 2 matches of the premier league while the super spender Spurs lost both their matches. Manchester united has spent more than 50 Millions pound in the transfer market which saw their worst possible start. Their new signings Owen hargreaves and Anderson is yet to make their premiership debut while the crisis filled Tevez made very little impact in the 90 minutes. Nani who replaced Rooney in the first match and started the match against Portsmouth did not impress much.

With all the four new signings yet to make a impact , the Red Devils lost Rooney due to injury and wil; be out of action for the next couple of months. Only player who made some chances for Manchester united was ronaldo who played brilliantly against Portsmouth was sent off for head butting. This draw and ronaldo's red card clearly signs the title loss for the champions.

Spurs who spent actively in the transfer market played the worst form of football losing to both Sunderland and then to Everton who clearly dominated the Spurs in all the aspects of the game.

This premiership season also saw the growth of two new title contenders apart from the top 4. This two clubs are Manchester City and Everton. Both played attacking football while defending perfectly. Another club that needs attraction is New Castle United who scored 3-0 in their starting fixture. Their new signings Smith and Geremi played a important part in their success.

The 3 teams of the top 4 made a positive start with Chelsea , Arsenal and Liverpool winning their starting matches comfortably.

Arsenal and Liverpool also made a winning start to their Champions League qualifiers.
